Get Out on the Land

Whether it is walking along the bluffs or meandering through the cypress forests, hikers have access to spectacular scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities on the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands. Whales migrate off the coast November through May. Resident and migratory birds can be spotted throughout the year. Spring wildlfowers bloom among the grasses.

Throughout the year the Friends group will offer volunteer work days, docent led hikes and special events on the lands. Mark your calendar for this year’s Discover the Coast scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018. Stay in touch about upcoming events on our Facebook page or join our email list.

Self-guided hikes are an excellent way to explore these lands.  The lands can be reached via one of three access points:

  • Behind Point Arena City Hall
  • Midway on Lighthouse Road
  • South of entrance to Point Arena Lighthouse
