Friends of Point Arena – Stornetta Lands is a group of volunteers organized to protect and preserve the Point Arena – Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument for environmentally responsible access and uses, educational opportunities, and collaboration with other groups.
Founding members of the Friends group were actively engaged in the campaign to add the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands to the California Coastal National Monument, including participating in the signing of the Presidential Proclamation with President Obama in 2014. Since that time, the Friends group has grown into an independent organization with board members who continue to participate in the community Gateway Group. The Friends group works closely with BLM Ukiah Field Office staff and the Director of the California Coastal National Monument.
